Man charged with 1st-degree murder after fatal stabbing in Strathroy

A 27-year-old man is facing a first-degree murder charge after a deadly stabbing in Strathroy on Friday afternoon.
Strathroy-Caradoc police were called to a medical emergency on Ashby Crescent around 5 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man with apparent stab wounds outside a home.
Despite life-saving efforts from first responders, the victim, identified as Endy Moniz, 27, of Strathroy, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police arrested and charged another 27-year-old man from Strathroy with first-degree murder. He remains in custody.
Strathroy-Caradoc police are leading the investigation with help from the Ontario Provincial Police's Criminal Investigation Branch, Sarnia police, the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario's Forensic Pathology Service.
Investigators say there is no threat to public safety, but the investigation remains ongoing.
