Gunfight in Çorum marketplace: 1 dead, 7 injured
One person died and seven people were injured in a gunfight between market tradesmen in Çorum . Two suspects were detained.
The incident occurred in the morning hours at a market in the Bahçelievler neighborhood. An argument between vendors over a location dispute escalated into a gunfight. Eight people were injured, one seriously, in the altercation. The injured—Mustafa Topçu, E.İ., A.İ., RCT, AA, BB, SD, and MAİ—were transported by ambulance to Hitit University Training and Research Hospital and private hospitals in the city. Mustafa Topçu, one of the injured, survived.
Police detained two individuals involved in the incident, identified as DA and MAA. A handgun and a rifle were seized at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
