A 106 thousand lira fine was imposed on the drunk driver who escaped from the police!
The incident occurred late at night on Kıymetli Street in the Selahaddin Eyyubi neighborhood of the central Selçuklu district. According to reports, the driver, driving a car with license plate 42 CME 70, disobeyed stop warnings from police officers at the enforcement station and fled.
After a lengthy chase, the teams that pursued the car pulled it over. Checks revealed that the driver, MC, had a blood alcohol level of 1.34 per mille (mg/dL) and that his license had been revoked six months earlier in a traffic accident involving alcohol.
A search of the car yielded four illegal knives. The driver was fined approximately 106,000 lira and taken to the police station for processing.
