The National Women's Volleyball Team beat Spain 3-0 in the first match of the World Championship held in Thailand.

The national team started the match well, taking a six-point lead (8-2) early in the set. Although Spain narrowed the gap to four points (16-12) midway through the set, the national team extended their lead to eight (22-14) with points from Ebrar Karakurt, Yaprak Erkek, and Melissa Vargas. Continuing their strong performance, the National Volleyball Team finished the first set ahead 25-18.

Both teams traded points in the opening minutes of the second set, and the set was tied at 5-5 at the start. The Turkish team led by 7 points (16-9) midway through the set. Continuing its impressive play, Turkey finished the second set ahead 25-20.

Spain started the third set effectively on serve, leading by 3 points (3-6) early in the set. Closing the gap, the Turkish national team equalized at 8-8. The Turkish national team received 2 points on Ebrar Karakurt's service game (10-8), and increased the lead significantly (17-11) midway through the set. Spain began playing effective defense in front of the net, cutting the gap to 2 (18-16) with consecutive points. Although the set was tied at 23-23, the Crescent-Stars made no mistakes, winning the third set 25-23 and the match 3-0.

The national team will face Bulgaria in their second match of the organization on Monday, August 25.
