A pet lion has caused fear in Lahore, Pakistan, after it escaped. The moment the lion chased people down a busy street was caught on camera.

Police said the lion attacked a woman and two children, and the injured women and children were taken to hospital. The lion on the loose caused alarming moments in the area, while the lion's owners fled the scene with the lion.

HORRIFIC MOMENTS CAPTURED ON CAMERAS

Security camera footage released by the police shows the lion breaking through the barrier around its habitat and running outside, chasing a woman who was shopping, before jumping on her and knocking her to the ground.

According to a police report on the incident, the lion then turned on the woman's children, aged 5 and 7, and injured their arms and faces with its claws. The injured were taken to hospital, but doctors declared that their lives were not in danger.

SUSPECTS CAPTURED

The woman's husband claimed in his statement to the police that the lion's owners came to the scene and "watched and enjoyed" the attack. The Lahore Police Department announced that the suspects fled, taking the lion with them, but they caught all three suspects 12 hours after the incident.
