National wrestler Nesrin Baş won the silver medal at the World Championship

Competing at the 2025 World Wrestling Championships held in Croatia, national athlete Nesrin Baş won the silver medal in the women's 72 kg category.
At the event in the capital Zagreb, Nesrin Baş faced Ukrainian Alla Belinska in the final match of the women's category.
The Ukrainian wrestler won the match with a pinfall and became the world champion in the women's 72 kg category.
23-year-old Nesrin, who came in second, won her first medal in the senior category at the world championships.
The Turkish Wrestling Federation's statement read, "Nesrin Baş became the second youngest woman to win the silver medal in the world women's competition. Nesrin made history as the youngest woman to reach the finals."
Nesrin defeated Slovakian Zsuzsanna Molnar, Romanian Alexandra Nicoleta Anghel and Asian champion Zelu Li of China to reach the final.
The national wrestler won the gold medal at the European Championship in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, last year.
The national athlete also has two world and European championships under the age of 23.
