'Diploma' indictment against İmamoğlu! 8 years and 9 months in prison and political ban demand

The indictment has been completed in the diploma investigation launched against the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) and CHP's presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is being held in Silivri Prison.
An indictment was prepared against Ekrem İmamoğlu, demanding a prison sentence of 2 years and 6 months to 8 years and 9 months and a political ban on charges of “successive forgery of official documents” due to his revoked diploma.
WHAT HAPPENED?
An investigation was launched over allegations of "irregularities" regarding Ekrem İmamoğlu's university diploma.
On March 18, the Istanbul University administration announced that it had cancelled the diplomas of 28 people, including İmamoğlu, on the grounds of "absence" and "clear error."
