Türkiye's social media chart: That application is at the top with 58.4 million people

According to Minister Uraloğlu, the number of people using the internet has reached 77.3 million. The number of social media users has increased by 1.7 percent in the last year. 53.4 percent of these users are men and 46.6 percent are women.
Internet users in Türkiye spend an average of 7 hours and 13 minutes a day on the internet, and 2 hours and 43 minutes of that on social media. Additionally, individuals use an average of 7.6 different social media platforms monthly.
The priority of users on social media platforms is to follow the accounts of friends, family members and acquaintances. This preference is followed by the accounts of brands that users have purchased or are considering purchasing.
Minister Uraloğlu listed the purposes of social media use as follows: reading news stories, communicating with friends and family, and making use of free time.
According to platform-based data, Instagram is the most preferred social media application in Türkiye with 58.4 million users, followed by YouTube with 57.5 million users and TikTok with 40.2 million users.
While the number of Facebook users was determined as 34.8 million, the number of people using the X (formerly Twitter) platform is 19.7 million. While the number of Instagram users increased by 8.5 percent by 2024; this increase was announced as 2.9 percent, 1.3 percent and 1 percent for TikTok, Facebook and X, respectively. There was no change in the number of YouTube users.
The time users spend on the platforms is also remarkable:
An average of 32 hours and 36 minutes per month is spent on Instagram, 26 hours and 26 minutes on TikTok, 23 hours and 31 minutes on YouTube, 9 hours and 45 minutes on Facebook, and 5 hours and 4 minutes on X.
