The world's cheapest robot has been introduced: It will now work at home.
China-based Noetix Robotics has ushered in a new era in consumer-level robotics accessibility by introducing a compact humanoid robot called Bumi, priced at just 9,998 yuan (about $1,370).
HELP WITH HOUSEHOLD WORKStanding just 94 centimeters tall and weighing 12 kilograms, Bumi is designed for home use and educational environments rather than competing with full-sized humanoid robots from brands like Unitree or Ubtech.
Despite its small and lightweight build, Bumi delivers smooth and stable performance for its price in tasks like walking, balancing, and dancing.
ROBOTS WILL BE INTEGRATED INTO DAILY LIFENoetix describes Bumi as the first consumer-grade humanoid robot under 10,000 yuan. With this model, the company aims to bring humanoid robots out of laboratories and into everyday life.
Behind this low price are lightweight composite materials, the company's in-house developed motion control system, and modular design.
Bumi was developed with a focus on learning and interaction rather than industrial functionality. Equipped with features like drag-and-drop visual programming and voice command support for children and beginners, the robot can be used both as a teaching assistant and a personal assistant.
Powered by a 48V 3.5Ah battery, the device offers 1-2 hours of use on a single charge.
