This special screen coating, which first surfaced in March, was claimed to consist of a "super-hard" layer that would reduce reflections on the screen and make the device more scratch-resistant. However, it was soon claimed that Apple's supply chain was experiencing production issues and that the feature might be shelved.
But according to MacRumors' reliable sources, Apple suppliers can now produce the technology efficiently enough for mass production, paving the way for the feature to be used in the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max.
IT WILL BE EXCLUSIVE TO PRO MODELS ONLY
The new display technology will remain exclusive to the Pro series for now. Apple's strategy may be aimed at increasing the difference between the Pro models and other models. This innovation, which will improve screen visibility, particularly in daylight, is aimed at professional users and those who use their phones extensively.
The new iPhone 17 series is expected to be unveiled in the fall. More leaks are likely to follow before the launch.
