Plane crashes will become history! They will pop like balloons as they fall

Two young engineers in Dubai have developed giant airbags that can be integrated into aircraft to increase the chances of survival in plane crashes.
Dubbed "Project Rebirth," the concept deploys giant airbags positioned in the aircraft's nose, fuselage, and tail using AI-powered sensors that activate within seconds. This creates a protective shield around the aircraft in the event of a collision, absorbing the impact.
The project's developers, Eshel Wasim and Dharsan Srinivasan, describe the system as "the first AI-powered post-crash survival solution." Their inspiration came from the Air India crash in 2025, which claimed the lives of 260 people.
It will also be integrated into existing aircraft. The system monitors the aircraft's altitude, speed, engine status, fire risk, and pilot reactions in real-time. When it determines that a crash is imminent, it deploys the airbags in less than two seconds. It also minimizes the impact on passengers with reverse thrust systems and special protective fluids.
The young engineers say the system could be integrated into existing aircraft. Project Rebirth is among this year's James Dyson Award finalists. The winner will be announced on November 5th, and the selected project will receive £30,000 in funding.
