OnePlus introduced OxygenOS 16: It has more artificial intelligence features!
OnePlus has announced OxygenOS 16, the next major version of its software. Based on Android 16, this new version focuses on AI features, fluidity, connectivity options, and customization options. According to GSM Arena, OxygenOS 16 retains many of the OnePlus AI features from OxygenOS 15, but adds entirely new features.
ONEPLUS OXYGENOS 16 FEATURESMind Space now integrates with Google Gemini, allowing Gemini to search Mind Space content or create travel plans, for example. Mind Space also adds voice memo functionality and the ability to create smart collections.
One of this year’s innovations, AI Writer, can produce creative texts based on a given prompt or edit existing texts in applications and check grammar. AI Recorder records sessions and automatically transcribes them, while also identifying speakers.
New AI features added to the Gallery app can adjust facial lighting in portrait photos and even correct closed eyes using previous photos.
Beyond its AI features, it also improves the user interface fluidity of OxygenOS 16. The Parallel Processing feature introduced with OxygenOS 15 now works in much more areas of the interface.
The lock screen has gained many new customization options, including new clock faces, widgets, and live photo/video support.
The home screen now also offers customizable icon sizes, and quick access functions can be added to icons.
OnePlus is also improving cross-platform connectivity. Sharing between phones and tablets is now possible, as well as accessing data from a Mac or PC.
The company is also adding Apple Watch support so Apple Watch owners will be able to view notifications, messages, calls, and more from their OnePlus devices.
OnePlus tablet users are offered the same customizable home and lock screen experiences with more advanced multitasking capabilities.
