Erdoğan-Imrali delegation meeting begins

The meeting between AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the DEM Party İmralı delegation started at 15:00.

Erdoğan received DEM Party deputies Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar, who were in the delegation, at the Presidential Palace.

MESSAGE FROM THE DELEGATION BEFORE THE MEETING: WE THINK IT MEANS A LOT

DEM Party Deputies Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar, who are in the İmralı delegation, made statements to the press members before their meeting with AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

While Buldan said, "We attach great importance to the meeting in question," Sancar said, "This meeting is really important. The process has reached a new stage."

“CONSULTATION IS NEEDED IN THE NEW STAGE”

Buldan said:

-First of all, we remember our President Sırrı. He made great efforts. He attended the first meeting. This is the second and a historical meeting. Because the process is now entering a new phase. In this new phase, consultations are needed. There is a need for an exchange of views. Therefore, today we will talk and discuss all these with Mr. President. It is important to provide consultation in order to take the necessary steps. We hope it will be a beneficial and productive meeting. We attach great meaning to this meeting. May it be beneficial to all of us.

“I WISH MERCY TO THE MARTYRED SOLDIERS”

Buldan also answered the question about the soldiers who entered a cave during the search operations in northern Iraq and were exposed to methane gas and turned into a city.

Buldan made the following statements:

-I also pray to God for mercy on the soldiers who lost their lives and were martyred. We have received very sad news. Today we heard that the number has reached 12. This is where the value of peace becomes clear. We understand better how valuable the peace process is in such situations. Peace needs to progress so that no one loses their life from now on. Once again, I offer my condolences and offer my condolences to their families.

SANCAR: THIS MEETING IS REALLY IMPORTANT

Speaking after Buldan, Sancar said:

-This meeting is really important. We have just consulted with our co-chairs. It is known that the process has reached a new stage. We will consult with the President and his delegation today on the characteristics and requirements of this new stage. We will convey our views and listen to them.

-I remember the memory of our comrade Sirri with gratitude and goodness. He made great efforts. We will do our part to ensure that those efforts come to fruition.

Sancar also said the following about the martyred soldiers: “We are truly deeply saddened. This news came while we were in a meeting. It deeply saddened both Mr. Öcalan and us. We already have a duty to advance this path so that such pains do not occur. We pray to God for mercy on all of them. We want to emphasize once again our belief that the days when this pain will end are near.”
