Following the PKK ’s congress announcement, the Labor Party (EMEP) released a statement titled “Cancel the trustee decisions, release the arrested politicians.” The statement emphasized that the trustees appointed to the municipalities based on the claim of “affiliation with the PKK” have lost their justification in the face of this development, and said, “The dismissed mayors and administrators of the municipalities to which trustees were appointed should be reinstated.”

The statement also stated that all politicians, especially the former co-chairs of the HDP, Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ, who are under arrest, should be released immediately. It was also emphasized that all those arrested within the scope of the HDK investigation should also be released.

The statement, which stated that the approach to the issue should be based on the understanding of equal citizenship, said, "The isolation should be ended and the operations should be stopped" and drew attention to the duties that fall on the forces of democracy, workers and laborers in order to prevent the 'process' from being confined to the domestic and foreign policy calculations of the government.
