Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced that 6 million cubic meters of natural gas per day will be sent from Turkey to Syria .

"WE PROGRESSED VERY FAST IN SYRIA"Bayraktar, who stated that the infrastructure work for the natural gas pipeline has started on the Syrian side and that the natural gas will be sent to Aleppo via Kilis, said, "This 6 million cubic meters of natural gas per day will be used to generate electricity in the natural gas power plant in Aleppo. We aim to start flowing within three months. We made very fast progress in Syria. Because our natural gas line had reached the Syrian border, all the way to Kilis. In a sense, we will be supplying the fuel for the gas power plants there in that way."
Bayraktar reminded that work has begun in Syria to supply electricity as well as natural gas.
Bayraktar, who stated that approximately 200 megawatts of electricity was supplied between Turkey and Aleppo, said, "We have completed the permit processes with abroad regarding the electricity capacity. By adding 500 megawatts to the current 200 megawatts, we will hopefully reach an electricity export of approximately 700-800 megawatts in the coming months."
