Ataşehir Municipality implements strict inspections in school canteens

The Ataşehir Municipality continues its uninterrupted inspections of school canteens to ensure students have access to healthy and safe food. As part of this effort, comprehensive inspections were conducted in the canteens of Cemile Besler Middle School, Kadriye Faik Koparan Middle School, Necati Bey Primary School, and Dilek Sabancı Special Education School. During the inspections, conducted by municipal police teams and food engineers, the inspections examined product expiration dates, adherence to hygiene rules, price labels, operating licenses, and the personal hygiene of employees. Canteen operators were warned about unpackaged products and carbonated beverages, which could pose a particular threat to children's health. The teams emphasized that canteens should not operate solely for profit but also provide healthy foods that contribute to children's development. Furthermore, reports were drawn up regarding any deficiencies identified following the inspections, and the necessary legal action was taken against practices that violate legislation. It was stated that inspections will continue periodically to ensure access to safe food in educational institutions.
