Speaking at the MUSIAD Ordinary General Assembly in the Haliç Congress Center, AKP President Erdoğan did not mention the PKK 's "congress" announcement and targeted the CHP and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality .
Erdoğan, who slammed CHP Chairman Özgür Özel as if he was not polarizing society, said, “Türkiye needs to embrace, not polarize. Türkiye needs to strengthen its domestic front.” Erdoğan, who claimed that Özel had complained about him to the foreign press, said, “The Chairman of the main opposition party is complaining about his country to the foreign press. He is harming local and national companies with boycott calls. With all due respect, this is not opposition, it is economic hitmanship, reporting.”
Stating that they have not compromised on financial discipline, Erdoğan once again called for patience and claimed that they will get things back on track with the following words: “It will take a little more time for the waters to calm down. As a government, we have the experience and willpower to bring the ship to port in stormy waters. We are proceeding patiently. We have achieved macro financial stability. We have established a solid foundation for permanent and sustainable growth. There may be temporary slowdowns in domestic and foreign demand. We have successfully passed the test against the fluctuations experienced in the last 1.5 months.”
