Qatar Airspace Closed, Aircraft Diverted to Türkiye

Qatar announced that it has closed its airspace to commercial flights due to Iran's missile attack on US bases in Qatar and Iraq in the evening. This decision has caused disruptions in air traffic. Planes taking off from various European cities to go to Qatar's capital Doha were diverted to Istanbul Airport and Esenboğa Airport in Ankara. It was learned that 5 planes that changed direction on their way to Doha landed at Istanbul Airport and that this number will increase during the night hours.

Turkish Airlines flights to Doha also cancelled

Turkish Airlines' Airbus A330 type aircraft with the registration TK760 tail, which took off from Istanbul to Dubai, returned to Istanbul via Antalya due to the closure of the airspace. AJet's flights planned for today to the cities of Dammam, Dubai and Sharjah were cancelled.

Turkish Airlines (THY) Press Counselor Yahya Üstün said in a statement on his social media account, "Dear passengers, our flights to Bahrain, Dammam, Doha, Dubai, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi and Muscat scheduled for June 23, 2025 have been cancelled. We kindly ask you to follow the updates regarding your flights on our website."
