Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is not enjoying her turn in the center ring of the Cabinet’s great circus of fools, apparently was desperate for any headline not containing the name “Jeffrey Epstein” and the word list. So she stepped in to stop the trial of a Utah doctor charged with a grotesque medical fraud. From CBS News:

Dr. Michael Kirk Moore, whose criminal trial was currently underway in Utah, was indicted by the Justice Department in 2023. Moore, his medical corporation and three co-defendants were accused of allegedly destroying more than $28,000 worth of government-provided COVID-19 vaccines and distributing at least 1,937 falsely marked COVID-19 doses on vaccine cards in exchange for direct cash payments or donations to a charitable organization. ... The Biden Justice Department alleged that Moore was not administering COVID-19 vaccines in exchange for the payment, and was administering saline shots to minors, at the request of their parents, so children would think they were receiving a vaccine dose.

What a creep, says the logical mind. And, the logical mind adds, what in the fck were these parents thinking? This is how you raise someone to hate and fear doctors and to lie to them. (I have some unfortunate personal experience in this regard.) Of course, Pam Bondi, being 20 pounds of dumbass in a ten-pound bag, has no time for the logical mind.

“Dr. Moore gave his patients a choice when the federal government refused to do so. He did not deserve the years in prison he was facing. It ends today,” Bondi wrote on X, thanking Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has a history of casting doubts on the efficacy of COVID vaccines, for raising awareness of his case. “She has been a warrior for Dr. Moore and for ending the weaponization of government,” Bondi wrote.

Good God, this woman is dim. And with Bondi allied with MTG, we have a classic case of the dim is leading the dim. Imagine Bondi’s argument in another context:

“Mr. Barrow and Ms. Parker gave the people a choice of where to keep their money when the federal government refused to do so.”

This sounds like the kind of thing the AG should run past her personal ethics adviser, and I’m sure Bondi probably ... never mind, I’ll go out and come in again. From Bloomberg Law:

Joseph Tirrell, a career attorney who’d spent nearly 20 years at the department, received a termination letter from Bondi July 11 that didn’t state a reason for his immediate removal from federal service. Similar to notices the Trump administration has sent to dozens of other DOJ civil servants, Bondi cited Article II of the Constitution, which concerns presidential powers, the sources said.
Tirrell, who transferred from the FBI in 2018 after a decade of service there, headed the DOJ’s ethics office. His portfolio included reviewing and approving financial disclosures, recusals, waivers to conflicts of interest, and advice on travel and gifts for Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, FBI Director Kash Patel, and other DOJ leaders.

I’ve taken to playing calliope music in my head while writing about this pathetic clown show. Makes life easier.
