Nihal Candan, one of the most talked about names of the time and a social media phenomenon known for the "Here is My Style" competition, lost her battle with anorexia nervosa on June 20. Candan, who had dropped to 23 kilos during her illness, was hospitalized on June 5 when she dropped to 29 kilos. Candan, who was taken to intensive care after refusing to eat, lost her life when her heart stopped twice on the same day.

Following Nihal Candan’s death, there were also cracks between her family. Her mother Umut Candan made a statement blaming her former son-in-law Faruk Çiçek, saying, “He left my daughter alone, I will never forgive him.” This statement had a huge impact on social media.

Faruk Çiçek, who has been silent for a long time, made his first public statement by speaking to Berat Aşıcıoğlu from Show TV. Çiçek defended himself with the following words:

"He didn't end up in hospital because of me. I didn't kill Nihal. We decided to break up before he went to prison."
