It is an essential part of a healthy life, but sports pain should not last more than 24 hours!

An exercise plan suitable for the person should be chosen Underlining that many health problems caused by inactivity can be protected with regular exercise, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Specialist Prof. Dr. Semih Akı said, “ Sports are a habit that should be maintained at every age. The important point here is to choose a sport or exercise plan that is appropriate for the person’s age, gender, health status and expectations. For example, young children can be directed to team sports such as basketball or volleyball to establish the habit of sharing, while performance-enhancing sports such as swimming or tennis can be recommended to young people.”

If it lasts more than 24 hours, be careful!
Although sports are necessary for everyone at all times, every physical activity performed unconsciously can pave the way for various injuries, said Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Specialist Prof. Dr. Semih Akı, “If sports activities are not performed properly, it is inevitable that they will harm the body. Physical activities that are not performed at the ideal intensity, duration and frequency can even lead to injuries that may require surgical operations. It is natural to have pain in the areas that were worked on after training, but if these complaints last more than 24 hours and the pain is accompanied by ecchymosis, swelling, numbness or sensitivity, it is useful to consult a health center.”
Warm-up and cool-down sections should not be skipped.
Emphasizing that the sports and exercise program should be done as recommended by a good specialist, Prof. Dr. Semih Akı said, “Warming up before exercise and cooling down after exercise should not be neglected. It should be known which areas and muscle groups in the body the sports equipment to be used will work. The reason for this is that exercise programs for muscle groups and exercise programs for respiratory or circulatory systems have quite different methods and activities. Doing exercises such as walking, swimming or cycling at a moderate intensity for 30-60 minutes a day, 4-5 days a week can be considered ideal for staying healthy and in shape.”milliyet
