A must for a healthy life! When choosing a probiotic, look at its strain content.

Probiotics are live microorganisms that provide health benefits when consumed in adequate amounts. The most commonly known species belong to the Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium genera. Prebiotics, on the other hand, are compounds that feed these friendly bacteria, usually containing fiber. Their gut health-supporting effects are enhanced when they work together. They provide miraculous protection against a wide range of diseases, from rheumatology to cancer. Scientific studies have shown that certain strains are effective in certain situations. So, which strain is more effective for which disease? For example, probiotics containing Lactobacillus strains should be used for antibiotic-induced diarrhea or irritable bowel syndrome; VSL#3 for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis; Akkermansia muciniphila for type 2 diabetes and obesity; and Rhamnosus GR-1 strains for recurrent vaginal infections. Similarly, if probiotics are to be used for upper respiratory tract infections, they must contain strains of the Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium genera.
