They came down on the citizens

Unable to get along While millions awaited interim raises for minimum wages, the government implemented interim increases on taxes and fees. Strapped for cash, the government increased the tax on small businesses, farmers, lawyers, doctors, and other small businesses by 44 percent at the beginning of the year, and then increased the tax return by another 50 percent for millions of citizens earning rental income.
115% INCREASE
This brings the price hike since the beginning of the year to 115 percent. To mitigate the outcry of millions of citizens affected by the flurry of price hikes, the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) on yachts, cutters, and boats was raised from zero to 8 percent, a nominal increase. The new increased taxes and fees, approved with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, were published in the Official Gazette in three separate decrees.
With the change made to the Stamp Duty, the stamp duty for Value Added Tax (VAT) and Withholding Tax declarations submitted monthly, which was 443.70 lira at the beginning of the year, has been increased to 665 lira. The tax collected from the declaration has been increased from 672.40 lira to 1,000 lira for Income Tax, from 898.20 lira to 1,350 lira for Customs and Corporate Tax, and from 329.3 lira to 495 lira for declarations submitted to municipalities and the Social Security Institution (SGK).
The one with the yacht was saved
Another decision raised the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) from 0% to 8% for pleasure craft, passenger ships, yachts, cutters, boats, and pleasure craft under 18 gross tonnage. This tax did not impose an additional burden on wealthy individuals who already own yachts or cutters. This is because the 8% Special Consumption Tax will now apply to all purchases of yachts, cutters, and boats.
With another decision, the annual fee paid by those with a gun carrying license increased by 100 percent from 15,800 lira to 31,600 lira, the possession certificate fee increased from 25,283 lira to 50,565 lira, and the smoothbore rifle license increased from 611 lira to 1,225 lira.
The 50% increase in tax return fees has hit a total of 4,259,000 small businesses (such as grocers, greengrocers, butchers, barbers, and tailors) who pay monthly income tax withholding taxes, as well as 3,200,000 small and medium-sized businesses (including rental income taxpayers) who are required to declare their earnings annually. Furthermore, the tax burden on 1,216,000 companies paying corporate tax has increased. Furthermore, the 3.8 million taxpayers filing VAT returns each month have incurred additional costs. Taxpayers filing returns with municipalities, particularly homeowners, will also pay additional taxes.
