Getting married in a megacity costs 850,000 TL

According to calculations by the Istanbul Planning Agency (IPA), the cost of getting married has risen. The average cost of getting married in Istanbul in 2025 was 850,000 TL. While all wedding-related expenses are calculated based on a total of 79 items under five categories, it turns out that costs have multiplied.

According to the IPA, the total cost of building a new home and hosting a wedding in a hall increased by 44.2 percent compared to 2024, reaching 850,095 TL. The cost of a wedding in a field increased by 30.2 percent annually, reaching 981,895 TL. While the average price of renting a wedding hall was calculated as 70,000 TL in 2024, this price increased by 88.3 percent in 2025, reaching an average of 131,800 TL. The cost of renting a field wedding area increased by 12.2 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 263,600 TL.

White goods, a major expense during the wedding season, increased by a full 36.1 percent in one year. Expenses reached 142,870 TL. Furniture costs also increased by 25.7 percent, reaching 185,905 TL. The cost of renting a house in Istanbul while getting married, including rent, deposit, and real estate commission fees, was calculated to be 96,424 TL in 2024 and 135,628 TL in 2025, a 40.7 percent increase.
