Developed countries call for de-escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan

In a joint statement, foreign ministers of the G7 countries called on India and Pakistan to "de-escalate tensions" and said, "We continue to follow the events closely and express our support for a swift and lasting diplomatic solution."
The foreign ministers of the G7 countries have issued a joint statement on the military tensions between India and Pakistan. The statement, which emphasized the "strong condemnation" of the terrorist attack on a tourist spot in Pahalgam in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, used the following expressions:
"We call on both India and Pakistan to exercise utmost restraint. Any further escalation of military tensions poses a serious threat to regional stability. We are deeply concerned about the safety of civilians on both sides."
The statement noted that the G7 countries support a peaceful solution and said, "We call on both countries to immediately reduce tensions and engage in direct dialogue towards a peaceful outcome. We continue to follow the events closely and express our support for a rapid and lasting diplomatic solution."
