Antalya Provincial Police Chief İlker Arslan, for whom an arrest warrant was issued, surrendered

A detention warrant was issued for Provincial Police Chief İlker Arslan, who was suspended in the Muhittin Böcek investigation, on charges of "taking bribes and aggravated fraud." Arslan's brother, who resembled him and was found in Arslan's vehicle, which was stopped in Niğde during the search, was also detained on charges of "favoring a criminal."

The process regarding İlker Arslan began during an investigation into allegations against Muhittin Böcek and the municipality. Following Muhittin Böcek's arrest on July 5, 2025, on charges of bribery, the investigations revealed that İlker Arslan's name was also mentioned in the testimonies of businessman B.Ç. and ET, a person who won tenders from municipal subsidiaries.

A Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) report was requested.

It was alleged that İlker Arslan's wife, M. Arslan, was posing as an employee at a company owned by businessman Fazlı Ateş, and that large sums of money were deposited into her account under the guise of salary. As part of the investigation, a Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) report was also requested to identify the financial activities of İlker Arslan and his first-degree relatives.

He was dismissed from the General Directorate of Security

The General Directorate of Security announced that Antalya Provincial Police Chief İlker Arslan was suspended from duty as part of the investigation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Who is Ilker Arslan?

İlker Arslan graduated from the Police Academy in 1994 with the rank of Deputy Commissioner and began his professional career at the Ankara Provincial Police Department. He subsequently held various positions at the General Directorate of Security, Siirt, and Ankara.

He undertook witness protection and overseas duties. Arslan, who served as Head of the Witness Protection Department between 2016 and 2021, served as Internal Affairs Counselor at the Embassy of North Macedonia in Skopje between 2021 and 2024.

Appointed to Antalya by Presidential Decree İlker Arslan, who was appointed as Antalya Provincial Police Chief by Presidential Decree dated 16 August 2024, was born in Sivas and is married and has three children.
