Serious Warning from Experts
ITU Meteorology Department faculty member Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Toros noted that Istanbul's high humidity can cause temperatures to reach 40°C. Toros said, "Those with chronic illnesses, the elderly, pregnant women, and children should avoid going outside, especially between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m."
Forest Fire Risk Increases
The General Directorate of Forestry (OGM) announced that the risk of forest fires has increased with rising temperatures. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's statement emphasized that 86% of fires are caused by human activity. Citizens are urged to refrain from burning stubble and discarding items such as cigarette butts, glass, and plastic bottles.
