They run parallel! All 4 are 2 km long!
The surface cracks, which start in the Akören Neighborhood of Konya's Karapınar district and approach the borders of the Hortu Neighborhood of Ereğli, are causing concern for the residents of the neighborhood.
According to DHA, Akören Neighborhood Headman Yusuf İlaslan said, "The surface fissures are approximately 2 kilometers long. Four fissures run parallel to each other. They are widening and deepening every day. The life and property security of our citizens is at risk."

Sinkholes, which occur mostly in the Karapınar district of the Konya Plain, have increased in number in recent years, while ponds and wetlands in the basin have also dried up and disappeared. The impact of the drought is also evident in surface fissures. These fissures, which form 15-20 kilometers from the city center, can sometimes reach depths of 4-5 meters. One of these fissures occurred in the Akören neighborhood. Akören neighborhood headman Yusuf İlaslan stated that residents in this neighborhood, which also borders the Ereğli district, are concerned about the surface fissures, and said:

The surface fissures are approximately 2 kilometers long and 17 meters wide, with four parallel fissures. They are widening and deepening daily. The safety of our citizens' lives and property is threatened. These fissures have now reached the Ereğli border. A road connecting neighborhoods to the highway passes through the area where the fissures are located. There was a collapse on the road before, and municipal teams came and repaired it. If the soil splits and the road collapses, irreversible consequences could occur. I urge the authorities to come here immediately, conduct an investigation, and take precautions. What more is expected? This region, renowned for its black carrots and tomatoes, is a significant contributor to the national economy.
