The most curious things about the Eid al-Adha bonus...

May 12, 2025 02:00 | Update: May 12, 2025 00:59
This year, Thursday, June 5, is the eve of Eid al-Adha. Friday, June 6, 2025, is the first day of Eid.
Monday, June 9th is the last day of the holiday. Therefore, with the holiday just a few days away, more than 16 million retirees and beneficiaries have already started to wonder about the bonus. While this is the case, our newspaper has started to receive many questions on this subject. Within the framework of these questions, we have dedicated our article to the issues that our readers are most curious about. HOW MUCH WILL THE BONUS BE? The biggest gain of retirees in the 2018 Presidential elections was the holiday bonus gain during the Ramadan Feast and Eid al-Adha. It was determined as 1,000 TL in 2018. However, in our country where high inflation prevails, how this figure will be updated has not been indexed to an objective criterion, such as the minimum wage or the revaluation rate determined by the state every year. In 2018, 2019 and 2020, it was left fixed at 1,000 TL without considering inflation. It was increased by 10% for the first time in 2021 to 1,100 TL. This figure was left the same in 2022. In 2023, it was increased from 1,100 TL to 2,000 TL. In 2024, it was increased by 50% to 3,000 TL. Lastly, this figure was determined as 4,000 TL during the Ramadan Feast. While it was very easy to buy a sacrifice with the bonus in 2018, today, unfortunately, it is not even possible to buy a small goat. So will the bonus, which is currently 4,000 TL, be increased this holiday? Based on our impressions in Ankara, we can say with great confidence that there will unfortunately be no increase. I hope I am wrong and our retirees can breathe a little easier. PAY ATTENTION TO MAY 31! All insured individuals whose retirement petitions are submitted to the SGK before May 31 will be entitled to the holiday bonus. Let us underline that the 4 thousand TL bonus will not be paid to all retirees at the same rate. Accordingly, those who retire normally from SSK, BAĞ-KUR and the Retirement Fund due to their own work will receive a bonus of 4,000 TL without any reduction. However; The permanent incapacity degree rate that is the basis for granting income to those who receive permanent incapacity income from work accidents and occupational diseases insurance,
Payments will be made to widows, orphans and other beneficiaries in the share ratio specified in the relevant laws. For example, a daughter who receives a 25% orphan pension from a 4,000 TL bonus will be paid only 1,000 TL. A spouse who receives a 50% widow pension will be paid only 2,000 TL.
The share ratios of the beneficiaries of those who died while receiving permanent disability income due to losing less than 50% of their earning capacity in the profession as a result of a work accident or occupational disease, whose death was not due to a work accident or occupational disease, based on the permanent disability degree that is the basis for the payment of income to the insured,
Payment will be made on that basis.
BONUS TO FUND RETIREES On the payment date, all those receiving retirement pension, old-age pension, duty disability pension, disability pension, survivors pension, permanent incapacity income and survivors income from SGK will be paid a bonus. In addition, holiday bonuses will be paid to relatives of martyrs, veterans, combat veterans, security guards, champion athletes and civilian citizens harmed by terrorism and the beneficiaries of these persons who receive a monthly payment from SGK. However, according to Law No. 2022, retirement bonuses will not be given to those receiving 65 year-old pension and disability pension. Again, SGK will not pay holiday bonuses to those who retire from banks, chambers of industry and commerce, and TOBB funds. BONUS PAYMENT SCHEDULE We can say that holiday bonuses will be paid before the holiday. Accordingly, starting from the last week of May and the first days of June, payments may be made according to the retirement allocation number to those who receive income/monthly salaries under the SSK, as well as those who receive monthly salaries under the Bağ-Kur and Emekli Sandığı.*** “Retirement is the beginning of a period in which moments, not hours, are valuable.” İsa Karakaş’s previous articles...Türkiye Gazetesi
