The Liberation Half Marathon Excitement Begins in Ayvalık

This major event, which will be held with the permission of the Balıkesir Governorship and the Turkish Athletics Federation, and with Setur Marinas Ayvalık as the main sponsor, will host a total of 1,300 athletes from 24 countries.

Sports and Tourism Come Together: The marathon, launched under the leadership of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın, who continues his efforts to transform Balıkesir into a sports city, is being organized as part of Ayvalık's Liberation Week events. The race, featuring a 21-kilometer half-marathon, as well as 10- and 5-kilometer courses, is open to athletes of all levels. The event aims to contribute to Ayvalık's sports scene and promote its unique natural beauty.

Organizing Committee President Onur Şentürk stated that the race course encompasses iconic Ayvalık landmarks such as the coastline, Devil's Table, and Flamingo Lake. The race will begin at 8:00 a.m. from Setur Marinas Ayvalık and conclude with a day of events and an awards ceremony.
