Passenger boat sinks in Nigeria: 25 dead

The boat that was boarded by people travelling from Munya district of Niger state to the market sank in the Shiroro area.

According to initial reports, 25 people lost their lives and many more were missing after the boat sank. Niger State Emergency Management Agency spokesman Ibrahim Audu Husseini noted that search and rescue efforts were continuing in the region and that the death toll could rise.
