L. Doğan Tılıç: There will definitely be attacks, but we will transform those attacks and pain into a common identity

The two most important events of the last few days in terms of Turkish politics and what is and will be happening in the country are the assassination attempt on dear Sırrı and the slap thrown at CHP leader Özel. There is not the slightest doubt that both of these were “ organized work ”. Everyone has something/someone in mind about the organizers. However, Özel also said that if these are not clarified in a way that does not leave even the slightest question mark on the back of the government and in people’s minds, that burden will remain there, getting heavier by the minute.
History is full of examples of opposition leaders who were attacked and who, through the right response, transformed this into broader public support and power. The way to transform an attack into power lies in the response you give to it. If the response of the one who was targeted and tried to be “ victimized ” was moral and courageous, if you were able to transform the pain of the slap in the face into political energy, if people were created to feel that “ this attack is actually against all of us ”, if you were able to reinforce the people’s belief that you are marching for a just cause and will never back down, then let those who try to scare you be afraid!
We will never cast a shadow over this common demand, let alone any personal or organizational ambition! There will definitely be attacks. However, we will transform those attacks and pain into a common identity. When someone is detained, arrested, silenced, we will all be that person.
