İmamoğlu called out to the government: "You are sacrificing water basins for profit."

İmamoğlu said that the foundation of the Melen Dam was laid 10 years ago, but there was no news about the dam. He recalled the words, "We are opening it in two years, Istanbul's water problem has been solved by 2071," and claimed that the government was trying to deceive the public.
İmamoğlu, who claimed that they even learned from them that there was a crack in the dam’s body and that it could not hold water, said, “You held tender after tender, you threw away tens of billions of lira, but you did not get any results.”
İmamoğlu said that the government had gone down in history with its incompetence in the Melen project and claimed that they had not even mentioned Melen's name.

İmamoğlu stated that the Sazlıdere Dam was removed from its status as a drinking water basin with a midnight decision, and that this decision was not consulted to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, İSKİ, or the nation.
“Then you started filling that basin with concrete,” said İmamoğlu, claiming that the water basins were sacrificed for profit while Istanbul was left without water.
At the end of his statement, İmamoğlu said, “This nation will never forgive you,” and that Melen and Sazlıdere would go down in history as a disgrace for the government.
