DMM denies allegations that Türkiye is targeting the Druze community in Syria

In a statement, the DMM stated that it had been observed that provocative content claiming that "Türkiye is targeting the Druze community living in Syria" was being systematically circulated in some media outlets.

The statement emphasized that such claims constitute a clear disinformation campaign aimed at distorting Turkey's humanitarian-based foreign policy, and included the following statements:

Turkey pursues a resolute and principled foreign policy that prioritizes regional peace and stability, based on respect for human rights and adherence to international law. Turkey, which supports Syria's political unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity at every opportunity, has no room for ethnic, religious, or sectarian discrimination in its approach; the essence is the protection of human dignity and fundamental rights.

In his statements regarding Turkey's Syria policy, our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has repeatedly and clearly stated his unequivocal rejection of discrimination based on ethnic or sectarian identities. This stance has not remained merely verbal; it has also guided all humanitarian aid activities and diplomatic initiatives implemented on the ground.

"Such initiatives are never rewarded"

The statement noted that since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, forcibly displaced Syrians have been welcomed without discrimination, and humanitarian aid and social support programs have been carried out to include all groups.

The statement noted the following:

No Syrian community has been excluded, and everyone has been treated equally, regardless of sect or ethnicity. Furthermore, it is clearly evident that some circles making these baseless accusations against Türkiye aim to sow chaos among the sensitive demographic structure and religious groups in the region and are conducting a smear campaign focused on geopolitical interests. Turkey continues to resolutely fulfill its responsibilities to establish regional peace, stability, and social unity. A clear stance is taken against separatist activities and sectarian conflict scenarios that threaten Syria's political unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and such initiatives are never given credence.

DMM stated that they continue to inform the national and international public accurately in light of the facts, and called for disregard for unverified, distorted, and deliberately fabricated content.
