Diyarbakır: Under control after 10 hours

A fire that broke out around 9:00 a.m. yesterday in the Lice district was extinguished by firefighting teams. Forty Forestry Department personnel, four water trucks, four first-response vehicles, military units, firefighting teams, and other vehicles were dispatched to the blaze, which began around 12:00 p.m. in agricultural land in the villages of Duru, Peçar, Gökçe, and Bağıvar for reasons yet to be determined and spread to a small area.

The fire, which burned for approximately 10 hours, was brought under control and extinguished overnight with the help of a helicopter. Approximately 350 acres of land were burned to ashes in the area where cooling efforts were underway.
