Diplomacy prevented the nuclear threat! The lion's share in the ceasefire belongs to Ankara

YEŞİM ERASLAN ANKARA - The conflicts and nuclear tensions that started between the two countries after India bombed Pakistan on May 7 were overcome through "diplomacy." While concerns about a comprehensive war increased after mutual ballistic missile attacks, a ceasefire was established between the parties with the intervention of diplomacy . Ankara, which openly demonstrated its support for Pakistan, played an important role in overcoming the crisis.
While tensions have been building between the two countries following the terrorist attack on April 22, which led to the start of the conflict, the Chief of General Staff Intelligence, Air Vice-Marshal Yaşar Kadıoğlu, has held talks in Pakistan. While Kadıoğlu's visits to Pakistan have had a wide repercussion in the region, the claims regarding the effectiveness of Turkish UAVs and radars in the attacks carried out by India on May 7 have received wide coverage in the world press.
CALL FOR MODERATIONWhile Ankara, which is closely monitoring the dispute between the two major nuclear powers in the region, called on the parties to exercise restraint, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan intervened and spoke by phone with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Erdoğan stated that Türkiye is ready to do everything in its power to show solidarity with Pakistan and prevent escalation of tensions, and that diplomatic contacts will continue on this issue. In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the one hand and the Ministry of National Defense on the other hand called on India to act responsibly. Supporting Pakistan’s call for an investigation into the terrorist attack, Ankara condemned India while supporting Islamabad’s thesis of “investigating the incident.” Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held two phone calls with Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar during this process.
THANKS FROM THE SHERIFFollowing the announcement that a ceasefire had been reached in attacks that carried the risk of nuclear war , Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar announced that the US, Saudi Arabia and Turkey played important roles in reaching the agreement . US President Donald Trump shared on social media, “After a long night, India and Pakistan have agreed on a complete and immediate ceasefire. I congratulate both countries for showing common sense and great intelligence.” Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked Turkey, China, the US, Saudi Arabia and Qatar for their peace efforts.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed satisfaction with the ceasefire between Pakistan and India. The Ministry stated that it was obvious that dialogue mechanisms, including in the field of combating terrorism, should be established to prevent similar tensions in South Asia.
