Yelkıran Village was also struck by a devastating fire in 2012, completely destroying the 80-household village. However, lawsuits filed at the time were unsuccessful, and the incident was recorded as "unsolved." Since then, the villagers have rebuilt the village entirely on their own, without any official support.
Since 2019, villagers have rebuilt the village's mosque, school, and nearly 20 houses through collaborative efforts. Construction of other houses continues with limited resources. However, with the fire that broke out yesterday, the village faces a second major threat of destruction.
Villagers are waiting for help from the authorities. Yelkıran Village, which has been trying to survive by its own means for years, urgently needs support to get back on its feet.
