An investigation has been launched into the lower band article on TELE1

TELE1's editorial board released a statement regarding the matter. The statement stated that while the program included an assessment of the Trump-Erdogan meeting, the subtitles included a comparison between Erdoğan and Netanyahu. The channel management stated that they found this statement inaccurate and that the mistake was made by the director's staff.
TELE1 management apologized and announced that they would conduct an administrative investigation and make the necessary decisions. The channel stated that while this statement wasn't definitive, it was open to misinterpretation.
Yılmaz Tunç said in his social media post, “Our President is a leader who always stands against the oppressor and on the side of the oppressed and the victims; and who is the pioneer of the call for justice.”
The Minister of Justice described such situations as "ugly perception manipulations." Tunç stated, "These ugly perception manipulations, incompatible with conscience, justice, and human dignity, will never overshadow the honorable struggle our President is waging not only for our nation but for all of humanity."
The five-day broadcast suspension imposed on TELE1 by the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) for allegedly violating the clause stating that "public opinion cannot be incited to hatred and hostility during broadcasts" went into effect on September 1. As part of the suspension, TELE1's screen was blacked out for five days on the night of August 31st to September 1st.
An investigation was launched against TELE1 Editor-in-Chief Merdan Yanardağ on charges of “praising crime and criminals” and “propaganda for a terrorist organization” due to his comments on a live broadcast about PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, and he was arrested on June 27.
In his speech on TELE1, Yanardağ said, "The isolation imposed on Abdullah Öcalan has no legal standing. It must be lifted. He cannot even meet with his family or lawyer. Can such an execution system be possible? Abdullah Öcalan is an extremely intelligent person who reads a lot of books and correctly interprets, sees, and analyzes politics."
Yanardağ was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison and released on October 4, 2023.
