102 suspects arrested in operations in 31 provinces

In a post on his social media account, Minister Yerlikaya stated that operations were carried out in the last month to capture suspected aggravated fraudsters in Adana, Istanbul, Antalya, Mersin, Sanliurfa, Aydin, Izmir, Tekirdag, Gaziantep, Osmaniye, Diyarbakir, Kayseri, Denizli, Sakarya, Bartin, Hatay, Siirt, Ankara, Malatya, Balikesir, Duzce, Eskisehir, Erzurum, Samsun, Trabzon, Bitlis, Bursa, Kutahya, Van, Kirklareli, and Kocaeli.

Yerlikaya, who reported that 188 suspects were caught on suspicion of defrauding 225 people in operations carried out by the provincial police and public order branch directorates, reported that the suspects introduced themselves as public and bank officials, lawyers and mediators, and that they committed fraud by promising phone lotteries, jobs, exorbitant prices, blackmail, and selling electronic goods and land titles from fake websites.

Stating that 102 of the suspects were arrested, judicial control decisions were issued for 55 of them, and the procedures for the others were continuing, Yerlikaya said:

I congratulate our governors, our chief public prosecutors who coordinated the operations, our Public Security Department of the General Directorate of Security, and our provincial police chiefs and police officers who carried out the operations. Together with our security forces, we continue our unwavering fight against criminal networks and illegal organizations that defraud our citizens.
