Horse riding instructor Elena Karaseva told MK why the horses that took part in the Victory Parade on May 9, 2025, did not relieve themselves during the ceremonial events.
"The horse's digestive tract is designed in such a way that the digestion process is almost continuous. This is due to the fact that the intestines are very long, longer than those of humans. For this reason, the horse eats a lot, practically 20 hours a day, it eats something. For example, grass, hay, first of all.
Somehow to stop feeding her is impossible. If the horse's intestines stop, it is fraught with a fatal outcome. Accordingly, we also cannot inject any drugs to stop the intestines.
Usually horses that perform at tournaments, they perfectly distinguish between the moment of warming up, the moment of preparation and the moment of performance itself. And they manage to cope with all their needs during the warming up. And during the moment of performance they control themselves."
