Volodin expressed gratitude to the generation of WWII victors

MOSCOW, May 9 — RIA Novosti. State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin expressed gratitude to the generation of victors who liberated the Motherland and saved the world from fascism, and called for remembering the price at which Victory in the Great Patriotic War was achieved.

"I congratulate you on the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War! May 9 is a sacred holiday that personifies the feat of our multinational people. Heroism, courage and dedication of soldiers, officers, home front workers. Those who sacrificed themselves, their lives, defending the Fatherland and providing the front with everything necessary. Endless gratitude to the generation of victors who liberated the Motherland, saved the world from fascism, gave freedom to millions of people. We will always remember at what price the Victory was achieved. Honor the memory of the heroes. We will do everything to preserve the historical truth," Volodin wrote in his congratulations on Victory Day to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, which was published on the website of the Russian Orthodox Church .
