A Reddit user named Dzreamy shared on the portal that she left her relatives' house after hearing her father's toast at a family celebration. Most commentators supported her decision.
According to the author of the post, she had a miscarriage a year and a half ago. "It broke me in ways I never expected. I'm trying to recover, and although I don't talk about it all the time, my family knows how hard it was for me," the girl said.
The narrator noted that her family recently held a party to celebrate her sister's pregnancy. Relatives and family friends were invited to the event. "During the toast, my father raised his glass and said, 'Let's drink to a successful pregnancy and to finally having a grandchild to hold in our arms.' Everyone laughed. My sister smiled," she described the incident.
The father's words angered the girl, but she decided not to make a scene and announced that she needed to leave. After that, the narrator, without warning anyone, went home.
"The messages haven't stopped since then, saying I overreacted, that I made things more complicated, and that I needed to forget about the past for just one night," the author added, asking other Reddit users if she had really exaggerated everything.
"They knew you were going through a hard time and their words hurt you," "Is your dad always such a jerk?", "That's just incredibly cruel," the commenters condemned the girl's father. Many advised her to temporarily cut off communication with her parents to let them know that they hurt her.
Earlier, another Reddit user shared a story about her husband's horrific prank, which she believes almost cost her her life. Many commenters criticized her husband.
