Some kick-sharing operators have tripled fines for minors using electric scooters. Legal expert Maxim Tishakov warned Russians about this in an interview with the Prime agency.
“Commercial organizations that rent out electric scooters establish conditions in their contracts prohibiting the use of a scooter by a person or its transfer to third parties who have not reached the age of sixteen, or in some regions, the age of majority,” the expert recalled.
According to him, children ignore traffic rules more often than adults, which often leads to tragic consequences. Some services have increased fines from 10 to 30 thousand rubles, except for Moscow , where such fines are already 100 thousand rubles.
Earlier, Russia proposed introducing restrictions on parking electric scooters. In particular, it is proposed to prohibit parking on sidewalks, pedestrian and bicycle paths, as well as in pedestrian zones, except for designated areas with appropriate signs or road markings.
