Bolsonaro falls ill and cancels event in Goiás

Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) canceled his political agenda in Anápolis (GO) this Friday 20, after feeling unwell during commitments in the city. The politician returned to Brasília in the morning for health reasons.
Mayor Márcio Corrêa (PL) confirmed the cancellation of activities through his social networks.
Among the canceled commitments were a ceremony honoring the former president and a lunch with political allies. Bolsonaro left Anápolis before noon to return to the federal capital.
During the morning, the former president visited Frigorífico Goiás, a company that gained prominence due to support campaigns during the 2022 elections. He stayed there for only about twenty minutes and, according to witnesses, showed signs of physical weakness.
Yesterday, during events in Goiás, Bolsonaro had already reported health problems. At a ceremony where he received the title of citizen of Goiás, he expressed discomfort due to gastric discomfort.
“Sorry, I’m really sick. I throw up ten times a day,” he said during the event.
The incidents occurred three months after Bolsonaro underwent a delicate abdominal surgery that lasted about 12 hours. He was discharged after three weeks of hospitalization.
It was the sixth operation of this type since the knife attack he suffered in Juiz de Fora (MG) during the 2018 campaign, which hit his intestine.
