White House disputes downgrade of US credit rating

The White House has adopted an aggressive tone towards Moody's after the ratings agency downgraded the United States' credit rating on Friday (16).
White House communications director Steven Cheung responded to the downgrade in a social media post, criticizing Moody's economist Mark Zandi.
He called Zandi a political opponent of US President Donald Trump.
“No one takes his ‘analysis’ seriously. He has been disproven countless times,” Cheung said.
