Lula meets with Chinese businessmen in Beijing

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva has a busy schedule of meetings with businesspeople this Monday (12), in Beijing, where he will make an official visit in the coming days.

According to the Planalto Palace, Lula will meet with the CEOs of two major Chinese companies. The first meeting will be with Lei Zhang, from Envision Energy, which produces turbines and wind energy. Next, Lula will meet with Cheng Fubo, from Norinco, an industrial corporation that operates in the defense, automotive, machinery manufacturing, chemical products, electronics, and other sectors.

These meetings will take place throughout the morning, at the hotel where Lula is staying, Sunday night, Brasília official time.

On Monday afternoon, still early in the morning in Brazil, Lula continued his business agenda by attending a meeting with representatives of companies in the health sector, followed by the signing of agreements. At the end of the day, the Brazilian president participated in the closing of the Brazil-China seminar, which brought together entrepreneurs from both countries.

CELAC-China Summit

On Tuesday (13), the official visit will continue with the participation of the Brazilian president in the summit of heads of state and government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) with the Chinese government. CELAC is the only organization that brings together practically all Latin American countries.

On the same day, during a state visit, Lula will meet with key Chinese authorities, including the chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Assembly, Zhao Leji, and the Chinese Premier, Li Qiang, and finally, an extended meeting with the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, at the Great Hall of the People. At least 16 agreements between the two countries are expected to be signed on the occasion .

Lula, First Lady Janja da Silva and a delegation of several ministers arrived in China on Saturday night (10), after a visit to Russia, where the head of the Brazilian government met with President Vladimir Putin, and participated in the ceremony marking the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany , ending World War II in Europe.

The president is expected to return to Brazil on Wednesday (14).
