Elections. Benfica promises a 30-minute wait to vote.

Benfica promised this Thursday a maximum waiting time of 30 minutes and continuous information on voting locations to expedite the process in the second round of elections for the club's governing bodies, on Saturday.
In a message sent to Benfica's members, it reads "30 minutes maximum waiting time and constant information on where to vote more quickly," again appealing for a new world record number of voters.
On October 25th, in the first round of voting, which featured six candidates, 86,297 members went to the 107 polling stations spread across the continent, autonomous regions and in various parts of the world [108 sections, with two in Luz], beating the previous record held by the Spanish club FC Barcelona in 2010, when 57,088 people voted in the election.
This time, the club aims to surpass that number again and reach 100,000 voters, with a total of 160,508 members eligible to vote in the second round of elections , according to the General Assembly Board (MAG).
The current president, Rui Costa, and João Noronha Lopes will compete in the second round of voting for the 2025-2029 term, after Rui Costa received 42.13% of the votes in the first round, compared to 30.26% for the manager, with neither obtaining a majority.
Luís Filipe Vieira (13.86%), the former president, João Diogo Manteigas (11.48%), Martim Mayer (2.10%) and Cristóvão Carvalho (0.18%) were the remaining candidates for leadership who did not reach the second round, where, in addition to the race for the leadership, the lists of Rui Costa and Noronha Lopes are also competing for the other governing bodies, the General Assembly Board and the Fiscal Council, and the Remuneration Committee.
