Traffic on the IP3 resumes after a collision that caused two deaths

Traffic on Main Route 3 (IP3), in Santa Comba Dão, was resumed at 1:28 pm, after being closed due to a head-on collision that caused two deaths.
The collision between the two vehicles took place in Cabecinha de Rei, in the municipality of Santa Comba Dão, at 8:57 am, and the fatal victims are a 61-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman, a couple who were traveling in a car with French registration plates, the GNR of Viseu told Lusa.
The collision between the two light vehicles, on a straight line with a double solid line, resulted in another victim in serious condition, a 43-year-old man.
The seriously injured man, transported to Viseu Hospital, was traveling with his family in a Swiss-registered vehicle.
The woman, aged 42, and her children, aged 12 and 14, are the three people who suffered minor injuries as a result of the accident.
According to the website of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority, 28 operators and nine vehicles were involved in the rescue operation.
