Luís Vendeiro won the Trilhos do Burel race in Manteigas.

The athlete from Guarda, Luís Vendeiro, once again distinguished himself this weekend by winning the main event of the Trilhos do Burel race, held on November 9th in Manteigas .
With a demanding 31-kilometer course and approximately 1700 meters of positive elevation gain, the competition tested the endurance and technique of the participants, in a mountain setting marked by the harshness and beauty of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park.
Luís Vendeiro, representing EDV – VIANATRAIL, crossed the finish line in 3 hours, 12 minutes and 44 seconds, winning 1st place overall. The podium was completed by Fábio André Tavares Mendes (ARCD Venda da Luísa), second place with 3h14m48s, and André Rocha (TeamRun…), who finished in 3h19m38s.
This year's edition of the Burel Trails had 296 registrations, of which 281 athletes confirmed their participation. In addition to the main race, the event also included the Mini Burel, with 127 participants, and a walk that brought together 97 enthusiasts.
It is worth remembering that on October 26th, Luís Vendeiro also came in first in the “Vila Wild Trail”, in Vilar Maior, municipality of Sabugal , a race promoted by the Associação Muralhas de Vilar Maior, integrated into the “5 Quinas – 6 Trails – 1 Desafio” circuit, created by the Municipality of Sabugal.
With this latest victory, Luís Vendeiro reinforces his excellent form and remains one of the leading figures in trail running in the Guarda region .
