Calcinha Preta's lead singer announces departure from the band; read the statement.

Singer Silvânia Aquino , 52, one of the vocalists of the band Calcinha Preta , announced her departure from the musical group this Monday (10), through a publication on social media.
"Throughout these long years I have built friendships, lived unforgettable moments and learned that life teaches us in many ways, how to act, how to think, how to feel. These were years of history, love, dedication and music, which provided me with unique experiences and a deep connection with my audience," he began in a note published on social media.
"Each chapter was written with great affection and truth, bringing my voice and my heart to each of you. The Silvânia Aquino you know is like that: genuine, emotional, and convinced of her actions. For all these years, the band Calcinha Preta was my home, the place where I grew as an artist," she continued.
Silvânia said she will carry the history she built with the band forever, with great respect and gratitude, and thanked everyone who has supported and continues to support her. "I leave here my heartfelt thanks. I am immensely grateful for all the love, support, and every kind word I receive."

My heart is filled with love and my eternal gratitude to every fan, every person, every friend, every collaborator who stood by my side. Who is Silvânia Aquino?The vocalist was born in the city of Aracaju in 1973 and began singing at the age of 16 in the dance band Estação da Luz. She only turned to forró music in 1994, when she joined the band Raio da Silibrina, where she remained until 1998.
National success truly arrived in 2000, when she was invited to become the lead vocalist for Calcinha Preta. Among the songs that dominated Brazil, "Você Não Vale Nada" stands out, written by Dorgival Dantas and featured on the soundtrack of the telenovela "Caminho das Índias" on TV Globo.
In 2016, with her former Calcinha Preta colleagues Paulinha Abelha and Daniel Diau, Silvânia formed the band Gigantes do Brasil, which lasted only a year and gave way to the duo Silvânia & Paulinha, formed by the friends in 2017.
In 2018, the two returned to Calcinha Preta to relive the success of the 2000s.
In 2022, Paulinha Abelha died from a nervous system infection . Silvânia was part of the band alongside three other vocalists: Daniel Diau, Bell Oliver, and O'hara Ravick.
